Lawson and Evolve join forces to open new Liverpool Ibis hotel

Pop group Lawson have helped to open a new hotel in Liverpool by playing an intimate gig to fans, in an event catered by Evolve Hospitality.

The invite-only opening saw the boy band launch the new Ibis Styles Hotel on Liverpool’s Dale Street, where they performed various hits in front of around 200 fans who won tickets to the event.

The lucky few heard the group play hits from their back catalogue, which has already seen them notch up five top ten singles since releasing their debut single in 2012, including Juliet, When She Was Mine, Taking Over Me and Standing in the Dark.

Aside from hearing Britain’s latest boy band, attendees were also treated to a range of fantastic food and drink prepared by Evolve Hospitality’s chefs and served by the recruitment company’s waiting staff.

Speaking to the Liverpool Echo, Thomas Dubaere, managing director for Accor UK and Ireland, which owns the Ibis hotels, said: “I’m very proud because this is our 200th hotel that we have opened in the UK and Ireland. [The group] has four hotels in Liverpool now and we will be opening another one here in a year’s time.

“Liverpool is the most happening city outside of London. Liverpool is a major tourist attraction and it’s good for our business that we are here in the city. It’s always a friendly place to come to and the people are very warm.”

The launch marks the latest high-profile gathering to use hospitality and catering staff from Evolve Hospitality following other events at the likes of Silverstone, Lord’s, The National Theatre, the London Transport Museum and the Institute of Directors, while the company has also provided quality staff for various restaurants around the country including Simpsons in the Strand, The Langham, Stovell’s Chobham, Adam’s Restaurant and the Lansdowne Club.
