Michelin-starred chef launches event catering business

Robert Thompson is to launch a new events catering business, it has been announced.

The chef, the youngest to ever gain a Michelin star, has set-up Robert Thompson Event Catering in order to provide cuisine for clients in their offices, homes or venues on the Isle of Wight.

The venture from Thompson, the island’s food ambassador, is likely to create new hospitality and catering jobs in the area.

He said: “I am delighted to announce the launch of my specialist event catering company, which I believe will provide new standards of event catering on the island and satisfy the demand that clearly exists for quality food and service at both indoor and outdoor events such as weddings, corporate events, private parties, cocktail receptions [and] festivals together with a full event catering and party planning service.”

The chef added: “I believe that using freshly prepared, quality local products that we can translate the quality of the food served in our restaurants out to the businesses, people and visitors to the Isle of Wight.”
