Simon Rogan names new Executive Chef

Michelin-starred Chef Simon Rogan has completed the search to fill the vacant Group Executive Chef job overseeing his various restaurants.
According to the Caterer, Marcus Noack will take on the role at Rogan’s Umbel Restaurant Group after Mark Birchall left earlier this year in order to open his own establishment.
Joining the group on 4th January 2016, Noack will oversee the kitchens and work on new menus at many of Rogan’s restaurants across the country, including the two Michelin-starred L’Enclume in Cartmel, Cumbria, the one Michelin-starred Fera at Claridge’s in London, and The French and Mr Cooper's House and Garden which are both based at the Midland Hotel in Manchester.
Noack’s new Group Executive Chef job follows a career working in various Michelin-starred restaurants across Germany including the three-starred Table d’Or in Guldental, the three-starred Überfahrt in Rottach-Egern and the one-starred Brenners Park Hotel and Spa in Baden-Baden.
Talking about the recruitment process, Rogan said: “We’ve looked long and hard and taken our time to fill this vital position in the company, and I feel that we have found someone of exceptional quality, skill and experience – and I can’t wait to start working with him.”
The group also recently promoted Sam Ward to be the new Operations Manager at L’Enclume after being its Restaurant Manager since 2012, while Lee Bird will take the Head Chef job at Rogan & Company in Cartmel. He was previously the Head Chef at Gilpin Hotel & Lake House in the Lake District and Sous Chef at Rogan’s The French in Manchester.
The Lowry Hotel in Salford has also recently been busy in the recruitment market and has appointed a new Executive Chef to head up its River Bar and Restaurant.
The newly named restaurant forms part of the five star hotel which has just completed a £4 million renovation.
