The Vineyard named restaurant of the year

Five-star Berkshire hotel The Vineyard has won a prestigious prize by being named the restaurant of the year.

The award, dished out by Decanter/Laurent-Perrier, should provide a boost for those working in hospitality jobs at the premises.

Often referred to as a ‘restaurant with rooms’, the eatery features a menu led by former Le Gavroche chef Daniel Galmiche and an award-winning wine list managed by Alan Holmes.

The restaurant was set up by owner Sir Peter Michael, founder of Classic FM, who aimed to promote his personal passions for fine food, wine, music and the arts.

Andrew McKenzie, managing director of The Vineyard commented: “It’s a real honour to be the Decanter/Laurent-Perrier restaurant of the year.

“We’re no stranger to accolades at The Vineyard, and whilst customer satisfaction and enjoyment is our ultimate aim, it’s always a pleasure to receive industry recognition especially when it rewards our passion for wine.”
