Top chef joins Hampshire hotel

Award-winning chef Richard Cameron has joined the Marwell Hotel in the latest in a line of prestigious catering jobs.

The new executive chef is expected to bring a wealth of experience with him to the Hampshire-based establishment.

He has worked in the catering industry for 25 years and gained experience in highly reputable establishments including London's upmarket Langham Hotel and the Rowhill Grange Hotel and Spa in Kent.

During his time at Rowhill he maintained three rosettes for three years and has claimed many other high-profile awards over the course of his career.

In his latest role he will launch a new menu at The Dining Room featuring British and European food. The bar menu will also be revamped to give it an international flavour featuring Asian tapas dishes.

Mr Cameron said: "Marwell Hotel provides such a fantastic opportunity for me to take a blank canvas and really make my mark.

"The Bastian family, who own the hotel, are fantastic people who have built a strong offering for people looking for a woodland escape. I really hope diners will enjoy the menu I have developed for The Dining Room and continue to sample the delights as we move through the seasons."

Hotel manager Oliver Bastian said he was "delighted" with the appointment, and added Cameron's passion and enthusiasm will "help put Marwell on the map" of top quality fine dining.

He added: "Richard's ideas, flavours, creativity and expertise is exactly what we have been looking for and we look forward to our guests enjoying this too."
